What can I do in My Studio?

Answer:

Like any studio, your MyStudio is your organisational hub. You can:

  1. Check your pmail.
  2. Send pmail to other Artists even if they’re off line (they’ll get when they log in next).
  3. Read your comments.
  4. Check out and change or add to, your special dates.
  5. Request newsletters.
  6. Avoid studying and working (not that we told you to do that).
  7. Order prints or canvases, and anything else our wild and whacky Team have added to the list.
  8. You can check out your stats, see how much of your 2GB (free space) you’ve used.
  9. Sit on your virtual bean bag, herman miller chair or rocket ship (we said virtual) and just get into the whole Community thing.

How do I check my Pmail?

Answer:

  1. Go to your MyStudio.
  2. In the top right panel you’ll find a Messages section. You will see how many unread pmail you have.
  3. To access this pmail, simply click it.

How do I send Pmail?

Answer:

  1. Go to your MyStudio.
  2. In the top right panel you’ll find a Messages section. Click the link that says compose message.
  3. A pmail panel will appear which operates similarly to most email programs. You’ll see tabs titled: Inbox, compose message, sent items and preferences.
  4. Click compose message.
  5. A message details box will appear for you to create your message with (complete with options of emoticons, and the option of adding a signature.
  6. To send it to the recipient of your choice enter their name. If you’re not sure what their correct user name is you can search the database by clicking the magnifying glass next to send to user panel. This will take you to a search function whereby you enter part or all of what you think the correct name might be.

How do I access the latest comments left on my work?

Answer:

 

When you are in your MyStudio there's a comments box in the bottom right of the frame. It will alert you as to whether or not you have new comments (since the last time you logged in). Click it to read them. To access previous comments, go to MyStudio>My Ph.Art> Comments

What stats can I check out?

Answer:
  1. You can find out how much of your 2GB’s of free space you’ve used.
  2. Check out your average Ph.Art Gallery rating from other members.
  3. Find out how much of your work is live in the Public arena (both Public and Collectors' Gallery).
  4. Find out how many images you have currently residing in your Private Gallery.
  5. Find out how many art pieces you've sold and how much commission you've made.

What can I do at My private Gallery?

Answer:

Click on the MyPhart tab and you’ll find the virtual door to your private gallery and the public gallery. Click the private gallery tab and you’ll be taken to your personal gallery. Here you can:

  1. Upload your images.
  2. Download images that aren’t for you anymore.
  3. Delete images from your Private Gallery.
  4. Create Collections.
  5. Invite people to view your Collections.
  6. View your work as a slideshow.
  7. Conduct a search.
  8. Input and edit the details of each, individual shot.

How do I upload an image?

Answer:

  1. Go to the upload image button on the top right of the screen, click it.
  2. Select browse images.
  3. Navigate to the image you wish to upload on your computer
  4. Click it, then click select.
  5. Click upload on the upload image box.
  6. Watch as the magical blue bar makes it's way across the screen indicating the image is being uploaded.

How do I download an image?

Anwer:

  1. Go to your Private Gallery.
  2. Hover over the image you wish to download.
  3. A list of options will appear one of which is Download a photo. Click it.
  4. Your computer’s download dialogue box will appear asking you where the image should be saved to.
  5. Decide and commence the download.

How do I delete an image?

Anwer:

  1. Go to your Private Gallery.
  2. Hover over the image you wish to delete.
  3. A list of options will appear one of which is Delete. Click it.

So how exactly do I create a collection?

Anwer:

  1. Go to your Private Gallery.
  2. Click the link in the top right of your Gallery which says Collections.
  3. A drop box will appear. Here you will find all your existing collection names as well as the option of creating a new collection.
  4. Click on the new collection plus sign. This will create a dialogue box which will allow you to create a name for your new collection. Plus a description of what it houses (should you wish).

How do I assign work to my Collections?

Anwer:

  1. Make sure the image you wish to place in a particular collection is uploaded to your Private Gallery.
  2. Hover over it with your mouse. An options box will appear with the following links: edit details, submit to Public Gallery, sort into Collection. download and delete.
  3. Click the Sort into Collection link. A dialogue box will appear with the names of the collection/s you created with the Collections link in the top right of your Gallery.
  4. Click the appropriate title and your image will be placed in that collection. Please note an image can be put in more than one collection.

How do I invite people to view one of my Collections?

Answer:

  1. Go to your Private Gallery.
  2. Click the Collections tab in the top right corner. A list of your collections will appear in an options box.
  3. Hover over the name of the collection you wish to invite people to view.
  4. An options box will appear with the following: edit details, invite and delete.
  5. Click the invite link. A dialogue box will appear.
  6. Fill in your intended recipient’s email address, a subject title for the email and a message for them.
  7. Press ok and an invitation plus a link will be emailed to your recipient.

Once in a collection they have been invited too, can people access the rest of my gallery?

Answer:

No. Not unless you invite them to.

How do I view my private Gallery images as a slideshow?

Answer:

  1. Go to your Private Gallery.
  2. Click the View as Slideshow link.
  3. The images will appear as a slideshow.

Can I vary the slideshow speed and transitions?

Answer:

Yep you can. When viewing as a slideshow simply click the settings tab in the bottom right hand corner. You will find the speed and transition options there.

Can I customise my Private Gallery?

Answer:

Every time you enter your Private Gallery you’ll see all of the images you’ve uploaded. You can sort these into smaller groups via various filters such as orientation and colour.

Someone told me I can change the colour of the site, is that true?

Answer:

You hang around with learned people. Yep.


Just go to the customise link at the top of the Gallery. Click it and you will find you can change the look of the Ph.Art Gallery to your hearts content. So go on...what colour are you today?

What’s my Ph.avourites mean?

Answer:

Some people know this as a Lightbox. If you love an image you see on Ph.Art you can choose to save it to your ph.avourites. Think of it as a slide out drawer you can go back to time and again.

How do I move from place to place within Ph.Art?

Answer:

  1. At the top of this screen and every screen on the Ph.Art site you’ll see navigation buttons.  Click on them to move from place to place. Some have sub categories so check them out too.
  2. You’ll also find links below the gallery screen. These will take to the less frequented but still important areas such as terms and conditions etc.
  3. You will also find links within galleries and rooms. Think of them as doors waiting to be opened.
