Public Group Guidelines
Whatever it is you’re in to, there’s certain to be someone else out there in the whole wide world who’s in to it too.
Why not get together and start a group?
That way you can all hang out in cyber land and discuss your love to your hearts content.
How it all happens…
- Any member can set up a group.
- You can own and moderate up to two active groups.
- Groups can be created based on any photography related subject (except for those mentioned specifically.)
- All created Groups will be given discussion space for Group members to communicate through.
- Discussions must abide by the Gallery guidelines policy that is not discriminatory or intimidating in nature (see Gallery guidelines for more information).
- Members must be respectful of everyone in and out of the Groups.
- All Groups will need to be approved by Team Ph.Art before being made active, so we don’t end up with Groups that are all based on the same subjects… variety people, variety!
What’s the role of the Group Owner/Moderator and what can they do?
- The owner/moderator of the Group can write the guidelines (based on the Ph.Art Master Group Guidelines) that will govern the Group and they will also have control over who is accepted into the Group and what the subject of that Group is.
- The owner/moderator can invite one other member to be a moderator of the Group to help maintain Group integrity, and to share the love with.
- An owner/moderator can transfer the ownership of their Group either to the invited fellow moderator or any other member who wishes to continue own and moderate the Group.
- An owner/moderator can choose to adjust the guidelines of their active Group but this will need to be approved by Ph.Art Admin prior to the guidelines being made active and public.
- An owner/moderator can choose to close their Group but this also has to be approved by Team Ph.Art.
So what can’t a group do?
The Group Guidelines – General Rules to consider when setting up a group.

Stuff that’s vulgar or offensive.
- Promote work that’s pornographic in nature.
- Be a group with no relation to photography.
- Promote anything deemed to be illegal.
- Solely exist to promote a site in direct competition to the Ph.art Gallery.
- Promote what is considered to be spam.
As owner/moderator you should:
- View the Ph.Art guidelines to setting up a group.
- Determine your Group Name and create your new group.
- Set the photo/image limit that each member can up load.
- Provide a description and set of guidelines of the group and it reason for being.
- Set up a owners message.
- Set up a group avatar.
- Check your group discussion board and regulate discussions; moderating inappropriate discussions where necessary daily.
- Approve or decline members into the group daily.
- Make it fun, fun, fun.
Ultimately Team Ph.Art will continually review Groups and make sure all rules and Guidelines are maintained.
So come on folks, get in to some group hugging!

This is a broad genre incorporating landscapes, waterscapes, urbanscapes, landmarks, weather, to just mention a few ideas.
