Caught up with the Alfred Stieglitz (Art Gallery) and Moran (Mitchell Library) exhibitons yesterday. Both are definitely worth a look. Stieglitz was not only a great photographer, but pushed hard for photographs to be recognised as art during the early 1900's in the US. The Moran finalists are a great collection of contemporary photographs - most are well executed and many very creatively done. Both are on until the weekend of Sept 4-5. GEMAX Photographics website

Yeah I'm planning to go to Moran tomorrow night, hopefully, it's already been pushed back a few times. Can't wait though, should be a good exhibition!

I put an entry in the NSW Parliamentary Plein Air Photographic Competition this year. Unfortunately I didn't make the list of 33 finalists, but those that did currently have their large prints displayed on the walls of Parliament House in Macquarie St, for most of September (to the 28th, I think). There are some very nice landscapes, including some from pro's/well known amateurs like Christian Fletcher, Dean Sewell (Occuli), Gordon Undy, and Jeff Stockton. Definitely worth a look.
