In 2006 a group of artists took on the idea of making the largest ever camera to create the worlds largest photographic exposure. A massive 8.5x33 meters in size.

They did it by converting an entire aircraft hanger into a camera obscura, light proofing the entire building except for a single 6mm pinhole. Using this set up and a 35 minute exposure of the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in Orange County.
'The Great Picture' as it has been dubbed has now been squeezed into a gallery space in California, where they had to bend the image into a two story atrium. The exhibition also contains a look at the process and other work by The legacy Project artists.
