'Street Photography Now' is an exciting new project taking place over the course of the next year (52 weeks). Each week beginning on a Friday an instruction will be published by a famous street photographer as inspiration for people to get out shooting their environment with a fresh perspective. When taken, photographers can then upload one image per the current instruction on to the projects Flickr page. The first challenge for the week beginning Friday 1st October has already been set by Magnum photographer Bruce Gilden.

The image deemed the most effective by the end of the year wins £1000 of books and will have their image displayed on the digital wall of The Photographers' Gallery, London. The project has been launched to celebrate the release of Street Photography Now - whom all the professional photographers involved in the project are published in.
After all the difficulties and legal issues faced in recent years, hopefully the project will have a positive influence - check out the official site if you want to get involved http://streetphotographynowproject.wordpress.com/
