Hi All. Well I was fortunate enough to attend the Peter Eastway conference on running a Landscape Photography business yesterday. I don't actually want to run a Landscape Photography business but being a keen photographer and a business owner I thought it would be interesting...and it was.
Peter is one of Australia's pre eminent photographers...I am a big fan of his work...you can see some of it here.
He is a wonderful shooter but where he really shines (I think) is in his post production. He is unashamedly a photoshopper as am I - for the good of the shot...
He creates wonderful light and is a great inspiration for the Magic Light Competition.
But what i think I like about him most is his willingness to share his techniques. Some photographers are highly secretive about how they shoot and retouch...but Peter is enthusiastic to share.
I will talk more about the session soon but if you are in Sydney he is doing some seminars at the Visible Light Conference in George St over the weekend. It's $295 for the day but I think well worth it (you also get to see other terrific speakers...) I know Gallery member John Robb is there today so I will cojole him in to writing a report next week...WON'T I JR!!!!!
Cheers all...
Mel
