Photokina is considered as the worlds leading trade fair for digital photography and it is taking place this year in Cologne, Germany from Sep 21st to 26th.
All the biggest manufactures such as Canon, Nikon, Leica, etc. use the event to debut their latest products to the 170,000 some visitors that are expected to attend. Photographers too are attracted to the event to show off their latest projects on stage, hence making the event an valuable insight into up and coming trends.
So what have been the main talking points this year? Well, what else but 3D technology, it's taking over! In particular Photokina is looking at how 3D technology can be brought into the home and everyday life. Another big theme of this years fair is the unification of functionalities within the same products - for example, the development of DSLRs to shoot both images and video.
