All the macro lovers out there, feast your eyes on these! They are just two of the finalists of this years Nikon International Small World Competition 2010.

Beginning in 1974, the Nikon Small World competition began as a way to recognise the field of microscope photography. A genre that is of great importance to the scientific and industrial worlds.
The aim of this competition however, is to show that a good photomicrograph can also be an object of beauty. Unique due to their colours, structure and compositions.

The competition is open to everyone internationally, professional or amateur - with no restriction on the subject matter. Which has lead to a wide array of entries over the years - you can vote for your favourite 2010 at www.nikonsmallworld.com
