The police service of New South Wales, Australia, have started a new Flickr feed to help celebrate their 150th anniversary that takes place next year. Detective Superintendent Dalton believes the 150th Anniversary is an important event to celebrate the proud traditions of the NSW Police Force.

“The NSW Police Force has been proudly serving the community of NSW for one and a half centuries, playing a significant role in the emerging society and the growth of the State,” said Detective Superintendent Dalton.
Renowned author Patrick Lindsay is currently writing a large coffee-table book to be published next year covering various aspects of the NSW Police Force history.
“We have many keen amateur historians within our ranks and we have dug up some wonderful yarns from within the police family,” said Detective Superintendent Terry Dalton.

As part of the event the police are also appealing for any information that people may have about the images posted.
"We have many historic photos for which we know the full background story. However we have put shots on the Flickr site and are seeking the public's help to identify where and when the shots were taken, who features in them, and any story behind them,"
