From the 30th of April to the 5th of June the Autralian Centre for Photography is hosting the finalists of the Head On Portrait Prize. Now in its fourth year the competition is highly thought of by the industry, this may be due to the feeling that it is judged purely on artistic merit rather than by the status of the photographer or their subject.

The exhibition includes the work of the 40 finalists whose images critics have deemed "the best portraiture work the country has to offer". As a result of this success its founder Moshe Rosenveig made the decision this year to expand the the exhibition into a whole festival with the work of over 300 photographers in 67 galleries across Sydney being displayed.
