At the end of last year Sydney based fashion photographer Hamish Ta-mé moved away from his famously striking portrait images and embarked on a new project.

La Petite Mort was a personal project by Hamish aimed at exploring his facination with "weightlessness, power, athleticism and beauty tempered by the melancholy embrace of gravity".
In order to capture his concept, Hamish worked with a special lighting rig that allowed him to shoot a burst of 40 frames in 4seconds. The shoot itself, which has been documented in La Petite Mort 1 and La Petite Mort 2, was created in collaboration with hip hop dancers, who's amazing movements Hamish was able to freeze in his images in all their glory.
