An image by Czech photographer František Drtikol which was stolen from the Museum of Decorative Art in Prague has thankfully been returned this week.

František Drtikol's "The Wave" was one of his more recognized works as it captures his avant-garde style of juxtaposing nudes against large geometric shapes.
On March 13th, just before closing, the thief stole the photo from the museum in Prague, and walked out — the theft wasn't reported until the next day. The 39x49cm print was taken off the wall, removed from its frame, which he then re-hanged.
Forunately a few days later the thief contacted a collector in New York who requested to see the image, after he recieved the piece he noticed that it was listed on the website http://www.artloss.com/. The print was returned to the museum, however the thief was never found as he never came back to pick up the photo.
