The web is a very, very large place with alot of content, the majority of which lets face it is of very poor quality (photo art gallery being one of the exceptions of course!). However, every so often a little gem appears in sea of mediocrity and our attention was drawn to one such case in the form of www.100abandonedhouses.com/.

Photographer Kevin Bauman began 10 years ago taking photographs of the abandoned homes in his home town of Detroit whose population declined had led to the sight of derelict homes in the suburbs becoming a more common. It evolved into the project '100 Abandoned Houses', which according to Bauman is a modest number considering the amount of images he could have taken. He feels that the collection could be a documentation of the downfall of American cities.
